Finally some time to do those little things you always forget… like fixing my fur coat! It’s a really old one and it’s slowling falling apart.  It wasn’t really decent anymore to wear and since it’s snowing I really need this coat to keep me warm. And so I used my free afternoon to get it fixed.
And a free evening gives me the upportunity to prepare a nice dinner.. Meatball tomato pasta a la Juliette!

Past saturday my sis and I went to the ‘Stedelijk Museum’ together with our parents. A so-called ‘day out with the family’.
The museum has been closed for quit a few years for a renovation. Right now the building has an old part and a really cool modern part attached to it. Lots of people call it the ‘bad tub’ right now since it kind of looks like it haha. Well, a massive one though! I was impressed by the size while walking towards the building.
The museum has different halls, with different kinds of art. The first part is mostly modern and conceptual, which I don’t really like that much.. and neither does the rest of my family, so we didn’t waste too much time looking at for example an ensemble of trash-bins and lava lights. The part with the ‘old’ paintings is nice, they have some real master pieces there, like paintings from Van Gogh, Kandinsky, Mondriaan, EL Lissitzky, Braque and so on…
The exhibition I liked most is where they show ceramics, jewelry, furnitures and graphic imprints all from around the 60 till now. I wasn’t able to make nice pictures there unfortunately.

An unexpected visit to the Dutch Design Week last Saturday. But the 6th year in a row though my curiosity dragged my feet into the train and to the Design Academy, STRP and the atelier of Piet Hein Eek. And I actually liked this years DDW the most!
It was the first time a visited the atelier of Piet Hein Eek. He’s a furniture designer who has a really particular and own style (you most likely would know his from the tables and closets made from used wood. Never thought his workspace was this big! and next to that there’s a really nice store and a beautiful restaurant all based in former Phillips Factory buildings.

And some promising designs at the graduation show as well. There was one design I got really excited about. The 4th photo shows foam molds with cut outs of sound waves. He uses these molds to make ceramic vases from. A nice object to have, designed mostly by the sound you choose and a bit by the designer choosing the angle of the sound waves and the colour/material.

Conclusion.. A great ‘design-full’ Saterday with my sister!

Yay, time to celebrate hyperjulia.com’s second anniversary!

As I said just one year back ‘Something that started off as a diary blog for my internship, but soon transformed to a blog that shows my style, things I’m inspired by, stories and adventures I want to share and stuff I make and do for living.’
Throughout the past year stuff has changed a bit. I graduated, been away for 4 months to travel trough South East Asia, and got a small interest shift where fashion has become a more spread thing to me and interior got a bigger accent on my blog.

Views keep rising and more and more people comment mostly in real live about stuff I do, which gives me courage and more drive to share stuff with you! And I couldn’t do this without my dear friends that help me take pictures for my outfit posts.
I made a summary of the moments and outfits that where most important this past year at Hyperjulia.com
And let’s hope for an even better and more successful 3rd year ha? ;)

A walk in the forest with my friend Marlie yesterday. We wanted to get some fresh air, clear our minds and search for some nice branches for a DIY. And so this post is a preview for the next outfit post and DIY post. I’ve been trying out my new 50mm lens the last few weeks and it’s so easy to shoot nice pictures with it! Love the field of depth.

It was time for a change and I’ve been craving to dye my hair for so long already.. Well friday it was finally the day I had some free time and my friend was able to help me with dying. We went to the hairdresser first to get rid of the dead ends. Second we bleached the bottom half part out and after 30 min of waiting my hair was as white as a blond Barbie! Another 30 minutes later my ends were PINK! In total it took us max like 1,5 hour to get it cut, bleached and dyed ourselves and it’s like 10 times cheaper doing it yourself.
Although it should have become dark red/pink like cherries.. I still like the outcome. It get’s lighter every time you was your hair, so next week it’s probably going to be a nice pastel pink. For now I’m the light in the darkness while biking trough the streets during night-time haha.
More and better photo’s soon this week in an outfit post!
